My husband Lulu and I recently stayed in a very nice hotel that served cucumber water. The drink was so refreshing I recreated it as soon as I came home. I added a few twists with chia seeds and some basil leaves.

The beauty is that you can prepare a lot of flavored water in advance of any type of party. You can use the combination of herbs, citrus, seeds and even berries you prefer. Chia Seed Blueberry Tea Drink Recipe Recipe

This morning, Lulu's 13-year-old teenage sister Mimi and I woke up in the wee hours of the morning and prepared a drink so we could have enough energy before our yoga routine. How to Cook Black Rice

Served as a side dish or in the form of rice pudding, black rice has a texture comparable to brown rice, but with a more pronounced nutty flavor. The dark color comes from the un-milled rice grain, which leaves a dark husk. In Imperial China, black rice was quite rare, and for this reason consumption was limited to royalty. For this reason, it can also go by the names “forbidden rice” or “Emperor's rice”.

Similar to blueberries and blackberries, black rice is packed with antioxidants. Today, I served black rice as a healthy side along with artichokes, baby carrots, bell peppers and asparagus. It’s a wonderful way to dress up even the simplest of dishes.
