Peach and Spinach Summer Salad Wrap Recipe Recipe

Temperatures are set to hit high numbers these days so to keep the house cool I've tried not to spend too much time behind the stove or use the oven too much. My go-to meal in this situation is fast, casual eating that requires minimal preparation and almost no cooking. My solution this weekend is to make summer salad wraps

I used ripe peaches, baby spinach, goat cheese, cranberries and balsamic vinegar. The wraps are tied together with lavash flatbread. The contrast of colors is strikingly beautiful. And can you guess when this healthy and tasty recipe was born? Last year, while working with the creative California Lavash team. You can find this exact same photo on one of their new, colorful packages.

Pizza Cracker Recipe Recipe

Pizza Cracker Recipe

If you want to have a healthy late night snack, these savory pizza lavash crackers are for sure going to satisfy your appetite. Leftover lavash bread, thick tomato sauce, marjoram, thyme, oregano, crushed red peppers and Parmesan cheese are all you need to make the perfect crowd pleaser.

The spiciness from the crushed red peppers makes them so addictive. You can also prepare a sweet version with apples and cinnamon, if you prefer; these crackers are as delicious as their savory equivalent.

I also have an announcement for this weekend. I'm going to be making a stop in Houston, Texas for an interview with Cleverley Stone on CBS Radio 650 AM at 10am. Tune in if you can, because a lucky listener will win a free copy of my cookbooks. Then I head to Barnes & Noble to sign my just released cookbook, Banh Mi, and my previous book, Haute Potato. Make sure you stay to sample a dish featured in Banh Mi! Hope you stop by and say hi!

Apple Cinnamon Cracker Recipe Recipe

Apple Cinnamon Cracker Recipe

12.10.12 by Jackie

Spices such as cinnamon, clove, nutmeg and star anise can take even the most pedestrian of treats and give them a holiday flair. If you're wondering what would please your family while waiting for the main dish to be served at your holiday dinner, my friends at California Lavash and I came up with the perfect crowd pleaser. Thinly cut slices of apples kissed with cinnamon-infused butter layered over crispy lavash crackers make for a healthy and addictive snack. That’s important, considering the number of guilt-inducing desserts I’ve gobbled down over the past couple of weeks.

Seriously, you won’t be able to eat just one. The California Lavash gals and I made over a dozen tasty dishes over the course of two days, but this is by far the most memorable. And you don’t have to shelve the recipe once the holidays are over. If you pack lunch for your kids, put a handful of these in their bag instead of cookies. It will help with New Year’s resolutions!

Mediterranean Pinwheel Sandwich Recipe Recipe

These colorful pinwheel sandwiches are loaded with Mediterranean flavors. Fresh and roasted vegetables are brought together with hummus and pleasingly tart capers. The cabbage and carrots were also briefly pickled in lemon juice and a little sugar to add a little brightness without sacrificing their crunch.

I made these pinwheel sandwiches a while back with the gals from California Lavash. I had a blast cooking with them and look forward to doing it again soon. Their pizza lavash is out of this world. These sandwiches are perfect for the summer and would look fabulous at any picnic, party or barbecue. Enjoy the sunshine!

Fig Dessert Cup Recipe Recipe

Fig Dessert Cup Recipe

09.27.11 by Jackie

I've recently received feedback about PhamFatale, saying that some of the recipes I post seem too complicated and the instructions can sometimes be a bit intimidating. If that describes you, then you are going to love this recipe. It may look fancy and complex, but it’s actually very simple.

The basics of these cute little desserts are roasted figs in individual baked lavash bread cups. I filled the edible cups with store-bought instant pistachio pudding and sprinkled the top of the fruit with crushed pistachios to repeat the flavor from the filling. I prepared the receptacle for each dessert by molding rounds of lavash bread in the cavity of mini-tart pans. I separately roasted fresh figs from our garden that I drizzled with flavorful maple syrup. Doesn't that sound yummy?

It took me no time to complete this elegant-looking sweet treat. So next time you want to serve dessert, give this recipe a try. If you really want to impress your friends, call it "figues rôties à la pistache". French names make everything sound fancy!
