How to Make French Madeleine Cookies (Video) Recipe

I love madeleine cookies. I love them so much, I probably make them at least once a month. They're a great snack and I always have someone in our home to enjoy, especially for guests that stop by for tea time. Believe me, ours never go to waste.

My friend Zareen recently opened her new restaurant, aptly named Zareen's, on 1477 Plymouth in Mountain View. She serves delicious Pakistani/Indian kebabs and various scrumptious goods. She asked me if I'd be interested to make desserts. I rolled up my sleeves and jumped into her kitchen. I wanted to impart an oriental flair to the sweets so I prepared masala chai madeleine cupcakes. If you live in the area, stop in and try Zareen's delicous menu and my sweets! And if you don't live near by, you can always try and replicate them by watching my new madeleine cooking tuorial! Please check out and subscribe to my YouTube channel (PhamFataleDotCom) and bon appétit!

Orange Flan Recipe Recipe

Orange Flan Recipe

04.04.14 by Jackie

It's already the weekend, and as usual, I'm sharing with you the sweets our family has been enjoying these days. Today, to prepare a dessert with ingredients that reflect the produce of this season--oranges--I made a flan flavored with white Port wine and orange zest.

The secret to the dish lies in the trio combination of mascarpone cheese, evaporated milk and sweetened condensed milk. Baby Aria loved the creamy, velvety texture of the flan, but her favorite part was the delicious caramel sauce. I didn't need to ask her twice if she wanted dessert!

Lemon Mini Cupcake Recipe Recipe

Lemon Mini Cupcake Recipe

03.28.14 by Jackie

We're hosting a casual gathering with family friends today. I think cupcakes are the best ending to such an evening. I prepared butter-y mini-cupcakes made with a very light lemon-flavored genoise cake batter. To reinforce the flavor, I topped the cupcakes with lemon cream cheese frosting.

I love serving and eating cupcakes. You can make them for any occasion and they're an informal way to end a meal or to enjoy just as a snack.

Chocolate Macarons Recipe

Chocolate Macarons

03.21.14 by Jackie

In my opinion, macarons are the epitome of a classic, elegant French dessert. If you've been following my culinary adventures, you've probably noticed how very keen I am on serving individual, miniature portions and that's exactly what I adore about macarons. They're made of a sweet meringue (egg whites, sugar and almond flour) sandwiched around a flavored filling of some sort. For this version, I used chocolate ganache (heated heavy cream poured over finely chopped exquisite, high-quality chocolate).

Cooking (and by extension baking) is an expression of love. I think the person who receives your baked goods will appreciate your effort and feel special. And that's my favorite part; I take pleasure in seeing the ones I love happy.
