Happy 4th of July - Independence Day Party Recipes Recipe
I am not a US citizen yet, but Independence Day is still a holiday that is close to my heart. I spent my summers throughout my childhood visiting America, and this is where I've made my home as an adult. So happy birthday USA; for a 233 year-old, you still look great! The 4th of July is a perfect opportunity to gather family and friends. I don't need much of an excuse to cook up a storm, but a barbecue on a sunny day is the perfect occasion for your loved ones to gather, chat and catch up on everyone's latest activities. I've put together a list of my favorite recipes for a get-together - read on to find out what my favorite picks are!

Best Chocolate Cake Recipe Ever... with Peanut Butter Icing! Recipe

I recently baked for a huge crowd and needed to make a large quantity of sweets. I immediately thought about making a chocolate cake because everyone I know is a chocoholic. I topped the chocolate-y goodness with a peanut butter icing that made the treat even more decadent and delicious.

Of course, you can divide the quantity if you're baking for a smaller crowd. I actually think the cakes come out more moist and fluffy when they're baked in mini-cake pans. Enjoy!

Tarragon-flavored Grilled Vegetable Party Platter Recipe

Tarragon is a wonderful perennial herb. Last year, I was telling Lulu my wish to add tarragon to our herb garden. We were clueless about how to plant it. First, we made a big mistake when we bought Russian tarragon, which is very weak in flavor. The best is the French variety, but of course it is . It has a nice anise, "licorice-y" flavor. Anyway, now we have 4 beautiful French tarragon plants that are very vivacious. We have so much that I came up with a recipe for grilling summer vegetables that uses tarragon in two ways; first on the grill while I'm grilling the vegetables, and second as a tarragon-flavored vinaigrette. The result was, surprisingly, very nice.

I need some more ideas on how to use all the tarragon left I have. I'm open to any suggestions. I'll try to make your recipe and post a picture.

Vegetarian Tacos Recipe

Vegetarian Tacos

02.01.09 by Jackie

Here's a healthy and tasty version of the usually greasy fast food fare.  My husband loves Mexican food, so I make this for him whenever he has a craving for it.  The great thing about learning this recipe is that you can reuse the filling in many other recipes - burritos, enchiladas, soft tacos, nachos, etc. - by just adding / exchanging a few ingredients.

If you're serving them for a couple of people, you can definitely assemble them before plating. But if it's for a party, just prepare each part separately and let you guests put them together as they like.  It'll save you time, and everyone will get their tacos exactly the way they like them.
