Khoai Lan Chien Tom
In Vietnam, there's a sweet potato and shrimp dish, khoai lan chiên tôm, that is served on many street corners. Three matchsticks of sweet potato and a whole shrimp adhered to them are dipped in a tempura batter, and then the whole thing is deep fried. Unlike many street foods that taste quite a bit better than they look, these fried treats are elegant and sensual, and would be at home on any Asian-inspired dinner menu.
