Jolokia Ghost Peppers (All Spice Cafe Product Review)

Jolokia Ghost Peppers (All Spice Cafe Product Review) Recipe

When John from All Spice Cafe offered to send us some products to sample, I was definitely game. We eat really spice food, so the chile sauces, salsas and other products from this wonderful company seemed right up our alley. Honestly, I think I was a bit arrogant in thinking that nobody made food spicy enough for the likes of my father-in-law, who makes habanero sauce by the liter and finishes it faster than you can imagine.

I got my reality check pretty quickly. The bhut jolokia ghost pepper sauce is one of the spiciest condiments I've ever had. Sure, there are some products that are just made with pure capsaicin, but I think that's cheating. This on the other hand packs flavor as well. But the show stealer was definitely the jolokia candied popcorn. It starts off slow, and then just overwhelms you. I gave some to my father-in-law, and he literally started screaming (sorry for outing you Daddy!). It became a running joke in our house to give a couple of pieces to anyone we knew liked spicy food. After mixing a handful in with some regular buttered popcorn, it was much more tolerable. All Spice Cafe also makes a much milder chile candied popcorn if the jolokia is too scary.

If you want to try any of these products, just head over to allspicecafe.com.
