Please Donate: Help Hurricane Sandy Victims!
Our friend Steve from the Milk Pail was one of the sponsors at this morning's American Red Cross Community Heroes Breakfast event at Santa Clara Convention Center. It was very nice and we were introduced to Alejandro Garcia, our "Hero" of the Day, who recently showed courage by saving someone's life by performing CPR. The work of the American Red Cross is always relevant in our lives, but it is brought into stark relief by the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.
The American Red Cross is taking donations now to help the victims of the hurricane. They are also asking for blood donations, so if you're able to, please participate. This is a somewhat selfish request, because my husband's uncle lives along the shore in New Jersey and his family had to evacuate a couple of days ago. Our prayers are with them and with everyone effected by the storm. They got out ok, but I think many people have no idea what they are coming home to, and the real work to help victims of the disaster is starting in earnest now. So if you can help, please do.
