Blueberry Protein Shake Recipe Recipe

Blueberry Protein Shake Recipe

Here's another all-natural recipe that Maman et bébé can both share, because I would never feed my child food I wouldn't eat myself. This blueberry breakfast oat shake is super healthy and contains no artificial flavorings. It's probably one of the healthiest meals I serve her, but it's still very tasty. You'll see in my notes that milk can be omitted or you could substitute infant formula for your little one's version. For added protein, I included mung beans and steel-cut oats, which also improve the consistency of the blueberry shake. Make sure you use room-temperature fruit for optimum flavor and natural sweetness.

I love my little baby Aria so much and I think she enjoys eating the same things as me. In fact, she won’t touch a spoonful until she sees me taking a bite! So as I always tell her when we start a meal: "une bouchée pour Maman (one mouthful for Mommy) et une pour bébé (and one for baby).". Motherhood is so much fun!

Cranberry Oatmeal Cookies with Pistachios Recipe

Cranberry Oatmeal Cookies with Pistachios

Our family loves oatmeal cookies. They are great on their own or with tea, which we consume in large quantities. Oatmeal cookies also make a great palette for other flavors.

This time around, I flavored the cookies with dried cranberries and pistachios. You could also blend other flavorings such as raisins, pear glacé, dried mango, dried cherries or dried apricots and other nuts.

During the holiday season, I like to serve them with eggnog or soynog.

Pumpkin Oatmeal Recipe: How You Should Be Starting Your Monday

The weather has been getting chilly here in the Bay Area, and it’s really starting to feel like fall. With Halloween and Thanksgiving coming very soon, I thought I'd make a breakfast dish that captures the tastes of autumn. To accomplish this I served oatmeal flavored with pumpkin purée, cinnamon, ground ginger and maple syrup.

Oatmeal is great at any time of the day. In fact, it’s our favorite evening snack. It's a quick and easy way to fulfill our late-night cravings. There is literally an unlimited number of ways to flavor oatmeal, making it a perfect palette upon which to test out ingredient combinations.

Pumpkin Oatmeal Smoothie Recipe

Pumpkin Oatmeal Smoothie

Recently I made a pumpkin spice latte and it got me thinking about other drinks that I could make using this Fall flavor. The girls love smoothies, so it seemed like an obvious choice.

I combined some pumpkin purée with traditional pumpkin pie spices such as nutmeg and cinnamon to form the base of the smoothie. Maple syrup and brown sugar provide the sweetness, and oatmeal helps to thicken the drink and provide texture. No bananas here.

If you're looking for a healthy alternative to gorging on slices of pumpkin pie, this smoothie fits the bill.  It has the same flavor but with fewer calories and more nutrition. If that's not your goal, you could always throw in a scoop of ice cream and make a milkshake...

Blueberry Maple Oatmeal Smoothie Recipe

Blueberry Maple Oatmeal Smoothie

03.25.09 by Jackie

Oatmeal Smoothies are the fastest way for me to give my husband Lulu a well balanced breakfast. It's also perfect for him when he's on the go. I already made an Oatmeal Vanilla Almond Protein Shake last week so I decided to change the flavor this week. I had blueberry preserves left in my pantry that I made last summer from the berries from our garden. Unfortunately, my blueberry bush hasn't produced any fruit yet, so I ran to my local market and got some fresh blueberries.

The smoothie turned out velvety and creamy, yet still very healthy. You can add your own twist to it by using different fruits and flavors (tropical fruits, berries, different syrups). Be creative.

It's always a great feeling to make something for the ones you love that they can appreciate.  I think that's why I love to cook. This is a perfect recipe to express your affection when you're pressed for time!
