Pumpkin Cornbread Recipe Recipe

Pumpkin Cornbread Recipe

This pumpkin cornbread is so delicious, I promise, once you try it, this will become a staple for your Thanksgiving meal. There are a few key ingredients that make this cornbread sensational: pumpkin of course, buttermilk, brown sugar and semolina. I did use cornmeal but the semolina gives a little oomph to the texture and a nice crunchy outer layer.

You've probably noticed I've been baking a lot these days. The only downside to baking so much is I have all the girls staring at the oven, complaining and asking every minute when it's going to be ready. They end up not being able to focus on their homework because an intoxicating, Thanksgiving smell permeates every single room of our house!

Pumpkin Waffles: Thanksgiving-themed Breakfast Recipe Recipe

Pumpkin Waffles: Thanksgiving-themed Breakfast Recipe

Waffles are always a hit at breakfast. And dressing them up with pumpkin is a wonderful way to celebrate Thanksgiving. I prepared my usual waffle batter, but this time, I added pumpkin purée, molasses and freshly grated cinnamon and nutmeg. I prepared several batches for tomorrow morning; it will be a great way for the family to start off the day.

In my opinion, a good dusting of powdered sugar and a nice hot cup of chai are all you need to enjoy these waffles. But I've reserved a little surprise for the family: I'll serve the waffles with candied pecans, whipped butter and hot syrup.

Red Bell Pepper Potato Pancake Recipe

Potato pancakes are delicious and easy to make. The batter consists of potatoes of course, flour, eggs and milk. I often flavor them with a wide variety of vegetables. This is a great way to conceal a nice portion of vegetables, especially if you're trying to feed children who don't like to eat their veggies.

During our stay in Paris, I made these for my parents and my daughter. While Aria loved the potato pancakes, my parents asked “where’s the meat?” What can I say, she loves vegetarian food, just like her dad.

Pumpkin Chestnut Puree Recipe Recipe

Pumpkin Chestnut Puree Recipe

I prepared a pumpkin with fresh chestnuts today for baby Aria and she absolutely loved it. The texture was a little too thick, so I thinned it with mashed plantains and a bit of milk. The pumpkin chestnut purée was as nutritious as it was delicious.

Who said "baby" food can't be tasty? I’ve made an effort to prepare homemade baby food ever since Aria started eating solids. She's already 16 months old and loves trying new foods. My motto is that I won’t serve anything to her that I wouldn’t eat myself. She seems to appreciate it and has become quite the little foodie! She even says “mmmmm” when we’re watching The Cooking Channel. Bobby Flay and the Iron Chef are her favorites!
