15 Fall Dessert Recipes for Dinner Parties Recipe

Let’s just pretend I’ve been here the whole time, and pick up where we left off, shall we? Last time I took a break from writing, it was still summer! Long story short, we vacationed in Mexico, then came to visit my parents in Paris, then my cell phone died and I got my laptop robbed! Everything I didn't last back up, I lost. Oh it feels good to be back! I missed my digital life and I am so genuinely thrilled to be back to blogging and get back to my old habits. I'm skipping like a schoolgirl, especially during this season, giddy for  a crisp autumn. I don't know about you, but I’m smitten with these coming months and all the season's bounty brings.

Anybody with me? I’ve compiled a list of my favorite Fall desserts. And if you have any plans to host a party, you will love this post filled with my favorite ingredients, pecans, pumpkin, figs. Enjoy!

Soyrizo Mushroom Patties Recipe

Soyrizo Mushroom Patties

I usually experiment with new barbecue sauces this time of the season. They're easy to make, store in the refrigerator and everyone loves them with chicken wings or veggie patties (we have a home full of vegetarians).

It's getting hot in the Bay area, and it's time for us to organize a pool party to celebrate the end of school and the beginning of summer holidays. Last night, we prepared soyrizo mushroom patties to go with honey barbecue sauce. The mixture of the patties was made of soyrizo, chopped button mushrooms, liquid smoke, bread for texture and kidney beans for added protein.

Unlike many vegetarian dishes, these burgers won't leave you wishing for meat. The texture is interesting and non-uniform, and the flavor is very bold. It's not a meat substitute, but rather a unique dish unto itself. Little Aria and I loved them too!

Flatbreads are great because you can load them up with whichever ingredients you like. They're also very versatile and can be served as a main course or cut up into bite size appetizers.

Since I recently purchased a molcajete, the typical, hand-carved Mexican mortar and pestle made from natural volcanic stone, I decided to put a Mexican twist on my flatbread. I gathered diced Ataulfo mangoes, green apples, jalapeños, red onions, Persian cucumbers, lime juice and tomatoes.

The exotic salsa would make a tasty, healthy snack all on its own, but it's even better spooned onto California Lavash flatbread. Yum!

Turkey Noodle Stir Fry Recipe

I've been taking care of Tran, my cousin's wife who recently gave birth to a beautiful little girl. After I pick up little Aria from preschool, I drive directly to Tran's home. Last night's dinner was a one-dish meal. I stir-fried egg noodles with sliced carrot, sugar snap peas, baby spinach and ground turkey.

I love the sizzling sound of stir-fry vegetables and noodles in the wok. There was no need to add liquid to the dish as I cooked the ground turkey first and returned it to the wok with its drippings at the last minute to add extra flavor to the soft noodles.

Marinated Rib-Eye Steak Recipe Recipe

Marinated Rib-Eye Steak Recipe

Little Aria is not very picky when it comes to eating meat. As long as it's tender, boneless and juicy, she's  always up for joining me and sharing the meal. Today I prepared thinly-sliced marinated rib-eye steaks and simply cook them on the grill. We enjoyed them with brown rice, bean sprout pickles and kimchi but they would also make a wonderful filling for a sandwich.

First I prepared a basic marinade made from chopped onion, garlic powder, green onions, honey, a bit of cooking wine, Worcestershire sauce and freshly grated green papaya. You can use the same marinade for other types of meat; it will be incredibly flavorful and  juicy.
